Safety Features of High Speed Doors
Additional safety features are available including break away panels and interlocked light curtains. Doors that open and close faster and are often in high traffic areas require additional safety features including: horns, alarms, strobe lights, light curtains and sensor along the full length of the bottom of the door. .
Break Away Doors
Break away doors are used in high traffic doors with high fork-truck traffic and the risk of impact is high. Break away doors allow the door to separate from the track or guide systems eliminating or minimizing damage.
So called self-repairing doors allow the door quickly get back into service.
With Albany’s exclusive self-repairing BacFlap Auto-Reset System, door repair is automatic. After a door is impacted, the driver simply follows the directions on the screen, pushes a button and the door repairs itself.
Everyone knows that no matter how fast a door is, it will be hit. In addition, while it is great to have a break-away door, it is far better to have a break-away door that is self-repairing.
The BacLight system offers a full curtain of protection up to approximately seven feet high on both sides of the door. Loads cannot go below or through the beams without being detected. Once an object is detected, the door automatically retracts.
